Medica Group is the market leader in teleradiology and managed radiology services across the UK and Ireland. We are currently seeking a new colleague to join our team and take the lead in establishing and managing our X-ray service at our state-of-the-art facilities in Galway.

With VHI opening a new clinic in Galway, we are looking for a Clinical Specialist to set up, oversee, and lead the X-ray service in collaboration with VHI’s multidisciplinary team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Specialist with team leadership experience seeking an exciting new challenge or for a Senior Radiographer ready to take the next step in their professional career with Medica Ireland.

Job requirements

Key responsibilities

  

  • Act as the lead radiographer and point of contact for X-Ray service and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders

  • Manage and provide leadership to the radiographers/locums to ensure quality, consistent work processes and service levels while also ensuring job satisfaction and career development

  • Assist the Radiology Services Manager(s) in the managing of any issues that may arise within the clinic and alert them of any potential areas of risk

  • Assist and initiate new business opportunities. Facilitate the expansion of the X-Ray including the introduction of new clinical pathways and service delivery options

  • Manage operational rosters and address potential gaps within rostering requirements

  • Manage the induction of new radiographers to the team and assist in completing ongoing clinical supervision and training programmes

  • Be familiar with and perform clinical audit, incident reporting, risk assessments and quality improvement activities when required

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Diagnostic Radiography degree

  • Extensive General Radiography experience

 

Essential skills:

  • Member of CORU

  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills

  • An ability to work independently

  • Dynamic, highly motivated and dedicated to delivering the highest standards of clinical practice

  • Experience in compliance with organisational policies, procedures and protocols including Quality Assurance and Key Performance Indicators

 

Desirable skills:

  • Team Lead experience

  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
